Flow: Quick Start Guide

Hoylu Flow has become an essential part in creating a free-flowing Workspace. With endless use of notes, Flow helps you create interactions with others. Here are the 5 key things to get you started.

Opening and Creating A Workspace

Create documents with a pre-installed template or a custom template.

Open A Saved Workspace (Saved file on computer):
Menu >  Open >  Browse on disk > Select Document

Open An Existing Shared Workspace:
Menu > Open > Open Shared > Type in 9 Digit Document ID

Create New Workspace:
Menu >  New >  Select template or  Select custom template

Share a document with other Flow users to collaborate in real time at any time, simply provide the unique 9-digit code found in the Share menu.

  • Menu >  Share >  Choose a title for your document:
    • Optional:  Set Password
    • Share via 9-digit workspace ID, QR Code, or a link to our web version that allows Guest view only access.

Adding Notes

Adding and editing text is easy with multiple input options. Either just start writing on your workspace once the pen tool is selected on a touch screen, or double click to type.

Note Menu:

  • Check Mark: Finished editing.
  • Star: Change color depth indicating priority.
  •  Polygon: Change shape of note.
  • Palette: Change color of note.
  • Trashcan: Delete note.
  • Keyboard Input for Text:
    • Double tap to add text
  • Touch or Pen Input for Text:
    • Write directly into the workspace using a Stylus or your  Finger
    • You can select this handwritten text and  Convert to Text through the  Left Sub Menu.

Changing the Color of Notes

Select the note by circling it, then hold down the button touching the selection line. Choose a color from the color menu that appears by sliding over it. When you are done, gently tap the wall and the note now has a new color.

Grouping Notes Together
Circle the notes and click on the little box that appears with the squares. Then choose which note you want to represent the group by tapping its star (on the upper right side of the chosen note). Click on the colored background inside the group and voila you have made your first note group!

Removing a Note from a Group
Write a few lines across one of the sides of the note – think of it as a zig zag movement in the same spot.

Un-Grouping Notes
To ungroup notes in Brainstorm, simply use the pen to write zig zag across the border of the group. Start from the outside and draw lines from the outside to the inside three times.

Changing the Color of Notes Inside a Group
One or several notes can be selected by circling them with the pen. All selected notes can be moved together by clicking and dragging. Clicking anywhere on the group border shows a menu to change the color of all selected notes. Clicking anywhere on the group border makes it possible to change the group’s color. Clicking on the arrow connection allows color change for the connections.
