Communication from Azure - impacting our Hoylu EU Instance:
This notification is for upcoming planned maintenance to your Azure Database for MySQL instance(s) in West Europe. This is scheduled to occur between 15:00 UTC on 03 Apr 2023 (17:00 W. Europe Standard Time on 03 Apr 2023) and 06:00 UTC on 04 Apr 2023 (08:00 W. Europe Standard Time on 04 Apr 2023).
During planned maintenance on your Azure Database for MySQL instance(s), there can be database server restarts or failovers, which might lead to brief (60-120 seconds) unavailability of the database servers for end users.
The entire planned maintenance event including each server restarts is carefully monitored by the engineering team. The server failovers time is dependent on database recovery time, which can cause the database to come online in minutes to hours if you have high transactional activity on the server at the time of failover. To avoid longer unavailability time, it is recommended to keep transactional workload light and defer long-running transactions like create index or data load to minimize disruptions to your application.
Hoylu's Response and recommendation to Clients:
We expect the Hoylu systems to become unresponsive, with data loss possible during this maintenance window. Since we're not certain of the exact time of the impact, we are making the following suggestions:
- Please plan as if systems will be down during this time Monday, 03 April (15:00 UTC/11 a.m. EST) through Tuesday, 04 April 2023 (06:00 UTC/2:00 a.m. EST).
- Make sure you and your teams are fully logged out of any Hoylu workspaces before the scheduled maintenance time to avoid potential data loss if our backend services experience disruptions.
Our Engineering and Support teams will monitor this planned maintenance from Azure and provide any additional updates as they become available.
