Splitting a Task is a way to divide one Task's full duration into several Subtasks at once, rather than creating them individually. It's useful when a larger scope of work naturally breaks into a repeating or sequential pattern — matching the parent's full length, dividing it into fixed-length chunks, or splitting it by a specific day of the week — so you get a complete set of connected Subtasks in a single step instead of building out that breakdown one piece at a time.
- Click on the multi-day Task to select it
- Click on the three-dot icon to open the menu
- Click on Split
- Decide on how you would like to split the Task
- Split into tasks no longer than [X] day(s) — divides each selected Task into a sequence of shorter Tasks, none longer than the number of days entered in the field, continuing until the original Task's full duration is covered
- Clicking on this option opens a type field for you to add a number for the duration of each split Task
- Split at the start of each — splits the Task at the start of each recurring interval
- Clicking on this option opens a dropdown on the right to select which day of the Week you wish the split to begin

- Confirm if you would like to have all the split Tasks be automatically connected using the checkbox on the bottom left corner of the window
- Click the Split button (which will show you how many Tasks will be created with this action)
- As best practice, update the titles of your newly-split Tasks so they can be more discernable from one another
