Pull Planning Module Enhancements
Over the past several months our Pull Planning users have shared valuable feedback on product enhancements. As discussed during our Q2 Product Webinar in May, Hoylu planned to release multiple enhancements to our Pull Planning Modules. They include:
Set Crew Size for Each Trade
Users now can set the crew size for all available trades.
1. When in your Pull Planning Module, via your Hoylu Toolbar, select the “Inbox”
2. While in the “Inbox” click the “Kebab Menu” on the upper right hand.
3. Select “Settings” from the available options.
4. The Settings popup box will appear. From there, select “Trade Settings.”
5. Click on the “edit” icon of your desired trade, which will pop open your trade specific box.
6. From there, you’ll now see a “Crew Size” field where you can set the crew size.
Make Day and/or People Field Mandatory
Admins can now make both the Day and/or People fields mandatory.
1. When in your Pull Planning Module, via your Hoylu Toolbar, select the “Inbox”
2. While in the “Inbox” click the “Kebab Menu” on the upper right hand.
3. Select “Settings” from the available options.
4. The Settings popup box will appear. From there, select “Plan Settings.”
5. Simply click on the activate icon to make the desired field mandatory.
6. To turn this mandatory requirement off for the desired field simply click on the activation icon again.
✏️Note: This new feature will not impact current plans. No warnings will appear.
7. Once activated, users adding a new task will be required to add the select mandatory fields. They will appear highlighted in red to indicate they are required.
Show Warnings on Overcommitted Tasks/Resolve Warnings
In the Pull Planning Module, tasks with warnings will now appear highlighted in red.
You can continue to resolve these issues manually, by dragging the tasks across the boards to the desired days. When the tasks are no longer highlighted in red, it indicates that the warning has been resolved.
Additionally, we now offer automatic options to resolve crew size conflicts.
1. Click on the red people icon within the task.
2. A “Crew Size Exceeded” popup box will appear.
3. Two options are now available as noted above.
a. Reduce crew size – this will automatically reduce the people assigned to the task to the available maximum crew size previously defined. If the amount of people working on the task cannot be reduced enough to resolve the conflict, this option will be greyed out.
b. Ignore task crew size calculation – this can be used when a task will require more than the maximum crew size.
You can also view any warnings via the Insights Panel. A warning icon will appear in red
Using the Filter dropdown, you can filter by “Only Warnings” for all available warnings to appear.
✏️Note: Currently, this warning feature is not available in the Weekly Work Plan section of the Insights Panel. This will be available in a future release.
Batch Changes
With our July release, you can now change the status of multiple tasks at once.
1. Using your Lasso tool select all the tasks you’d like to batch change.
2. Click on the left portion of any task (status change section), where you can now select from “Planned,” “Committed,” “Completed,” or “Incomplete.”
✏️Note: Admins can still make task status changes that are not available for non-admins.
3. If you select multiple tasks, with different statuses, a popup box will appear.
4. From here, select which of the tasks you’d like to move to the desired status state. Simply click on the activation icon to toggle back and forth.
5. Select “Set to…” for all the tasks to move to the desired status state.
Agile Module Enhancements
As part of our July release, we continue to bring enhancements to the Jira integrations with our Agile Module.
Jira Dependency Visualization
1. In your Agile Module, select a Jira task, where a new popup box will appear.
2. Here you’ll see the relationship between different tasks. These relations can be customized in Jira, by your Admin users.
3. In this example, you can see we used “is blocked by” and “blocks” – these are the incoming (always on top) and outgoing (always located below incoming) connections.
4. From here, you can add a new Jira ticket to your plan by selecting the import icon from the popup box. The new ticket will appear to the left column and can be moved if necessary.
Jira Ticket Customization
Hoylu Workspace Admins can now customize what appears on the Jira tickets for each workspace both in the Jira editor as well as on the ticket itself.
1. Double-click on a Jira ticket, within your Agile Module. A popup box will appear.
2. As an Admin, you can select the gear icon to view the “Jira Ticket Display Settings.”
3. Once you click on the gear icon, a new popup box will appear with a list of fields you can display via the ticket editor and directly on the ticket.
4. From here, select which of the fields you’d like displayed in the editor or on the ticket. Simply click on the activation icon to toggle back and forth.
a. icon represents “Show in Editor.”

1. Key
2. Summary
3. Description

Ticket Limits (Kanban Workflow)
Within the Agile Module, using the Kanban template, you can now limit the number of tickets within any given column.
1. Click on the icon on the desired column to access the “Column Settings.”
2. The column settings popup box will appear. Select the icon on the desired column to access the specific “Section Settings.”
3. The “Section Settings” box will appear, where the new “Set ticket limit” field will be displayed. Enter your desired ticket limit and hit “Save.”
4. Users can still add additional tickets; however, a warning will appear on the column heading, indicating the ticket limit has been exceeded. (Example: Ticket limit was set to 5, but we have 6 tickets within the column. The header notification turns to red and displays 6/5.)
✏️Note: Additional features supporting the Agile Module are slated for Q3 and Q4 of 2022.
