Labels can not only provide another area for more details, but also help you categorize your work and use filters in other areas of Hoylu Workspaces like Plans, Boards, and even Focus Mode to help you find and sort the information you need. You can also bulk add Labels to a large selection of objects by using any of your Selection Tools.
Add or Remove a Label
-
Click on the Label icon on any Task, Milestone, or Constraint in the Plan
-
Program a color for the Label by clicking on the colored square
-
Type the title of the Label in the open field
-
Click the plus button or Enter/Return on your keyboard to add the Label to the Task
- If you change your mind, you can hover over the label and click the red X button that appears to remove it from the Task (it will not be deleted from the Label menu)
✏️ Note: When you have more Labels in your menu, you can click on the checkbox next to each Label to add as many of them as you need to your Tasks.
Label Menu
Workspace Admins can use the Label section in the Control Center as the main hub to create, edit, remove, and categorize all the labels used within the Workspace. Open the Control Center either from the gear icon on the Label Menu or by pressing F1 (or fn + F1 on Mac).
Create a Category
Categories will help you organize your Labels so that the next time you open the Label Menu, all your Labels will be sorted into your desired category.
-
Open the Control Center by either using the Main Menu, the Label Menu, or the keyboard shortcut (F1 or fn + F1)
-
Click on the Add Category button
-
Type in a title for the category
- Click the Create button
Feel free to then use the up and down arrows to reorganize your Categories based off your priorities and preference.
Create and Assign a Label
-
Click on the Add Label button
-
Click on the color square to select a color for the Label
-
Type in a title for the Label
-
Click on the Categories dropdown to either select the Category to which this new Label belongs or create a new one on the fly
- Click the Create button
You can also click on the pencil icon next to an existing Label to assign (or un-assign) it to a new Category or click on the checkbox to the left of a Label to bulk assign them, as depicted in Figure 4.
This is where you can also assign a color to the Categories so the Labels you add to Tasks, Notes, or Shapes will have a gradient of the Category and Label color.
Use the infinity icon in the Category bar to also toggle the ability to always see the Label or only when a user hovers over the Note or Task in order to save space.
Delete a Label
You can delete Labels from this menu as well, which also removes that Label from all Tasks or objects in the Workspace. You have two different ways to do so, and the first is as follows:
-
Click on the checkbox next to any Label in any Category
- Click on the Remove button that appears under the list of Labels
The second option:
-
Click on the pen icon next to the Label
- Click on the Remove button on the bottom left corner of the popup
