Your Dashboard is a collection of your Workspaces, which includes both Workspaces you've created and others' Workspaces that you've accessed before. This article will guide you through how to maneuver the options available to you in the Dashboard.
Create a Workspace
You have several choices when creating a new Workspace in the Hoylu Dashboard. You can create your own by clicking on the red tile, which will open a Blank Workspace, or choose from an array of Templated Workspaces by clicking on Browse Templates, which includes several combinations of smart Hoylu structures like Pull Plans, Agile Boards, and Backgrounds from the Assets Panel.
Figure 1. Create a new Workspace from the Dashboard.
- Go to your Dashboard on app.hoylu.com
-
Click on any of the tiles in the top ribbon or in the Template window
- Once the Workspace loads, the Workspace Info window will open for you to edit the Title, assign the Workspace to a Project Folder, and change the Workspace Thumbnail
- Review the Link Sharing and Permissions sections so they are to your preference (the Workspace will default to no access until you change this to allow other participants into the Workspace)
- Make sure you save the changes you have made to the Workspace
Your new Workspace is already loaded in the background so once you close the window, you can get right to work. You can access this window again by clicking on the Workspace Title in the top left menu of the Workspace. Review this article to learn how to modify your Workspace settings like changing the title, thumbnail, or description from within the Workspace itself.
Add a Workspace Label
If you are the admin of the Workspace, you are able to add Labels in order to better categorize and find relevant Workspaces.
- In the Workspaces list section of the Dashboard, find the Workspace to which you want to add a Label
-
Click on the three-dot menu on the bottom right corner of the Workspace tile
-
Click on Label in the dropdown menu
-
Type in the Label name
- Click on the plus button
You will now be able to sort through all the Labeled Workspaces in your Dashboard by clicking on the funnel icon on the top right corner of the Dashboard. You can add as many labels as you would like to your Workspaces to help you sort everything.

✏️ Note: If you share your Workspace with another user, they will also see the labels you use to help them categorize their Workspaces as well.
Usage Indicator
Hoylu calculates the weight of your Workspace based off how much and what type of content is in your Workspace. You'll see usage meters on each of your Workspace thumbnails so you always know which of your Workspaces are larger.

Search for a Workspace
You can quickly find yourself with a full Dashboard of Workspaces, so you can use the Search bar at the top right corner of the Dashboard.

😎 Pro-Tip: Workspaces that have recent changes since your last access will have a red dot next to their titles to help you identify new work.
Duplicate a Workspace
Duplicating is helpful when you want to preserve the structure or layout of a particular Workspace and use it for another session so you don't have to set it all up again. You can also use it to preserve the state of a Workspace as an "archived version." No matter what your need, duplicating is easy.
- In the Workspaces list section of the Dashboard, find the Workspace to which you want to Duplicate
-
Click on the three-dot menu on the bottom right corner of the Workspace tile
-
Click on Duplicate...
- When the Make a copy popup appears, type your new Title in the New Workspace Name field
- Click the Duplicate button
✏️ Note: If you were not the admin of the original Workspace, you will be the admin of the Duplicate Workspace.
Hide a Workspace
If you no longer want to see a Workspace on your Dashboard but do not want to delete it entirely, you can hide Workspaces.
- In the Workspaces list section of the Dashboard, find the Workspace you want to hide
-
Click on the three-dot menu on the bottom right corner of the Workspace tile
-
Click on Hide...
- Hoylu will ask you to confirm if you you want to hide the Workspace
- Click on the Hide button
You will no longer see the Workspace appear on your Dashboard, but all other participants of that Workspace will still be able to enter it and work as normal.
To find your hidden Workspaces, however, use the funnel icon on the top right corner of the Dashboard to click the checkbox to show Hidden Workspaces. If you wish to make this Workspace visible again, use the three-dot menu to unhide it.

Delete a Workspace
Only admins are able to delete Workspaces, and that is because there is no way to recover deleted Workspaces. Be very cautious about deleting as this will delete the Workspace for yourself and all other participants.
- In the Workspaces list section of the Dashboard, find the Workspace you want to Delete
-
Click on the three-dot menu on the bottom right corner of the Workspace tile
-
Click on Delete...
- Follow the instructions on the popup that appears to permanently Delete your Workspace
Invite New Users
You can easily share out links to Workspaces with people who have never used Hoylu before, and upon their first entrance to the tool, they will be prompted to sign up as a free user or as a guest. However, if you want to invite them into the tool without providing them access to a Workspace as well, you can use the Invite button on the top left corner of the Workspace.
Type in their email address, and Hoylu will send an invite link to that person that will be valid for up to 7 days. If they do not sign up with that link within that time period, you can always send them another.

User Menu and Settings
The colored user marble at the top right corner of the Dashboard provides you with additional options to manage your account and toggle between light and dark modes of the Dashboard. However, your options depend on what type of account you have.
If you have signed up for a free account, Hoylu will display how much of your free usage credit you have used and a spot to upgrade your account once you have reached your limit. You can view this article for more information on the credit limits.

If you are an enterprise user, Hoylu will tell you in parentheses and there will be no option to upgrade.
Regardless of account type, you can access the Manage Account option, which will open a popup to provide options to delete your account or edit your user settings. For more information on deleting your account, see this article; for more information on your user settings, see this article.
