Figure 1. Example Insights Panel: the top Filter section in red, middle Charts section in blue, and bottom List section in yellow.
Hoylu's Insights Panel provides various charts and list views of past, current, and future work to extract reports that can provide insights on project completion rates, trends, and crew sizes.
To open the Insights Panel:
- Navigate to the Plan Settings Bar on the top center of your Pull Plan
- Click on the Pie Chart icon next to the Title of the Plan.
Figure 2. Opening the Insights Panel from the Plan Settings Bar.
Once your Insights Panel is open, you'll have several options:
- Grab the empty areas of the top bar of the popup to move it elsewhere on your screen
- Click on the _ button to minimize the Insights Panel
- Click on the circular arrow button to refresh the information presented in the Insights Panel if anyone has updated content within the Pull Plan
- Click on the x button to close the Insights Panel
Use the Filters at the top of the Insights Panel (highlighted in a red box in Figure 1) to narrow down the report you want visualized in the pie chart and line graphs in the Charts section. The images will update in real time as you adjust the Filters. The List section shows a line-by-line view of the filtered selection along with Destination icons on the right side, allowing you to jump to that specific Task in the Plan. Use the arrows on the top right corner of the Charts and List sections to collapse or expand them as needed.
Filter
In order to narrow down your reporting, use any of the dropdown menu items in the Filter section of the Insights Panel.
- Team - allows you to search, select, or multi-select Teams you want to focus on in the report
- Assignee (new as of March 2024) - allows you to search, select, or multi-select users that have been assigned to Tasks
- Week - allows you to search, select, or multi-select Weeks in the Plan
- The format of the Week names (i.e. '24 W9) is year (2024) and the week number (W9), which you can see as you're expanding and collapsing weeks in the Plan.
- The format of the Week names (i.e. '24 W9) is year (2024) and the week number (W9), which you can see as you're expanding and collapsing weeks in the Plan.
- Swimlane - allows you to search, select, or multi-select Swimlanes in the Plan (including collapsed Swimlanes)
- Status - allows you to sort through the different Task statuses: Unplanned, Planned, Committed, Complete, Incomplete, and Only Warnings, which are Tasks in any state of conflict
- Label - allows you to search, select, or multi-select Labels on any Tasks in the Plan (see this article to learn how to add custom Labels)
😎 Pro Tip: To preserve the Filters you've set, instead of closing the Insights Panel with the x on the top right corner of the window, use the _ button to minimize the window instead. The Insights Panel will minimize into a small rectangular box at the top center of your screen until you decide to re-open it with the previously-selected Filters.
Charts
Use the dropdown menu on the right side of the Charts title to change the views between Task Type, Variance Reasons, PPC, and Crew Size. Use the left and right arrows under the line graph showing the By Week view to switch to the By Team bar graph. Hover over any of the graphs or charts for tool tips with more information.

😎 Pro Tip: At any time, click on the two-paper icon on the top right of the Charts section to Copy an image of the current Pie Chart and Line or Bar Graph to paste elsewhere, either in the Workspace or outside of Hoylu.
List
Scroll through the list view of all Tasks that you have used the Filters to find. You can also use the Destination icon on the right side of the item to have Hoylu bring you to the Workspace page in which the Task can be found (also demonstrated in Figure 7).
😎 Pro Tip: You can also click on the Task name itself to open it in the Editor, where you can modify and/or status the Task.
Export to .CSV
If you want to bring this data into another software to visualize differently, you can use the export option within this section.
- Click on the .CSV icon on the top right corner of the List section
- Click on the double arrow icons >> on the relevant fields to add that item to your .CSV export
- Click the Save as preset button if you plan to do this export again
- Click the Export button
Figure 8. Export to .CSV option in the Insights Panel.
Unlike the overall CSV Workspace export option in that you can pick and choose what fields you would like to export, including the Type field, so you are able to differentiate between Tasks and Milestones.
