Hoylu March '25 Product Release

We are continuously working to improve your experience in Hoylu, and this release brings significant updates to workspace creation, insights, timeline functionality, and XER imports. These enhancements focus on usability, security, and efficiency to better support your workflows. Highlights of this release include:

• A new "Create Workspace" flow with an updated dashboard layout, quicker access to share settings, and improved security defaults.

• A resizable and dockable Insights Panel, now also featuring a Weekly Work Plan view sorted by start date.

• A floating timeline that stays visible, features improved swimlane headers, and includes new indicators for current day/week and full-week-off periods.

• Enhanced XER import capabilities, now supporting different dependency types and lag values.

March 2025 Release Overview

New "Create Workspace" Flow

We have redesigned the workspace creation experience to streamline the process and enhance security. Key updates include:

• Updated Dashboard Layout: The top section for creating new workspaces is now more compact.

• New Default Thumbnails: Improved branding consistency, with thumbnails that adjust based on light/dark theme.

• Quicker Workspace Creation: Users now enter the workspace immediately, eliminating the pre-entry modal.

• Refined Share Settings:

  • "No access" is now the default setting for new workspaces to enhance security.

  • Share settings are accessible immediately upon entering the workspace.

  • Expanded tooltips provide clearer explanations of sharing permissions.

Future updates will include improvements to the invitation process, reworking notification emails, and adding in-app notifications for workspace invitations.

Insights Panel Enhancements

We’ve made major improvements to the Insights Panel, making it more flexible and user-friendly:

• Resizable & Dockable Panel: Users can now resize the Insights Panel, dock it to the side, or expand it to full screen for a better viewing experience.

• New Weekly Work Plan (WWP) View: Tasks can now be sorted by start date, providing a waterfall-style view for easier tracking.

These updates allow for deeper project insights, particularly for those managing long timelines or large-scale projects.

Floating Timeline

We've reimagined the timeline experience to reduce clutter and improve usability:

• Always Visible Timeline: A single floating timeline remains on top of the workspace, ensuring visibility at all times.

• Cleaner Swimlane Headers: Redundant date information has been removed, making headers more compact.

• New Markers:

  • Bold indicators for the current day or week.

  • Month indicators now displayed for better long-term planning.

  • Highlighted full-week-off indicators for improved scheduling clarity.

• Quick Swimlane Collapse/Expand: Users can quickly adjust swimlane visibility; this can be restricted to admins in settings.

• Clean Up & Resize All: A new option allows users to instantly clean up and resize all swimlanes, making large imports from XER or CSV files easier to manage.

This update significantly improves readability and efficiency when navigating large project timelines.

XER Import Improvements

Enhancements to our XER import functionality make it easier to manage task dependencies:

• Support for Dependency Types: The system now correctly imports Finish-to-Start (FS), Start-to-Start (SS), and other dependency types.

• Lag Import: Imported dependencies now include any lag time, ensuring more accurate scheduling.

• Selectable Imported Connections:

  • Users can now select imported dependencies for better visibility.

  • While these connections remain uneditable, selecting them helps users track task relationships more effectively.

These updates provide a more comprehensive import experience, particularly for those integrating external project schedules into Hoylu.
