This December release includes a set of incremental improvements and refinements across planning and whiteboarding, with a focus on usability, performance, and reliability. Alongside several UX enhancements, this update introduces new tooling to help ensure plans remain consistent and easier to work with as they grow.
The main areas covered in this release are:
➡️ Expanded connection quick actions
🖱️ UX enhancements across planning, whiteboarding, and printing
🛠️ Improvements to plan consistency and performance
🐞 General bug fixes and stability improvements
➡️ Connection Quick Actions
We’ve expanded connection quick actions to make it easier to work with multiple elements at once.
Create connections from or to multiple selected elements
Works in both plans and whiteboards
Useful for mind mapping and connecting many tasks to a single milestone
💡 Tip: You can press X to toggle between selecting elements and selecting connections.
Connection styling (line type, thickness, etc.) can still be adjusted as before.
💡 Tip: Changing dependency types for multiple connections at once is a known limitation and will be addressed in a future release.
🛠️ Plan Repair Tool
We’ve added a new Plan repair option to help resolve plans with incomplete or missing swimlanes.
In rare cases, plans could end up with missing weeks or empty swimlanes if a large operation—such as creating swimlanes from trades or adding many weeks—was interrupted before completion.
With this update
A Repair plan option appears in the main menu when issues are detected
Running the repair fills missing weeks and restores empty swimlanes
The option disappears automatically once the plan has been successfully repaired
The repair works whether tasks are present or not
💡 Tip: If you don’t see the Repair plan option, your plan is already in a valid state and no action is needed.
As part of this work, we also improved performance for operations most likely to cause these issues, reducing the likelihood of incomplete swimlanes occurring in the future.
🖱️ UX Improvements
Tasks, Milestones, and Constraints are now available as main tools

Prevents images from becoming squished or unreadable
Images remain correctly positioned when collapsing or expanding sections

🐞 Bug Fixes
This release also includes several stability and bug fixes:

As always, we’re continuing to refine and improve Hoylu based on customer feedback and real-world usage. If you notice anything that feels off or have suggestions for UX improvements, please let us know—we’re always happy to hear from you.
