We’re excited to share this month’s update, bringing AI-powered workflows, enhanced Weekly Work Plan visibility, a faster dashboard, and a collection of customer-driven UX improvements.

🌟 Highlights in This Release

• 🧠 AI Features (Beta): Extract notes, convert to tasks, create subtasks, suggest teams, and generate image alt-text — all with your own OpenAI key.

• 🔗 Weekly Work Plan: See and manage task connections directly in your plan view.

• 🔍 Dashboard: Faster search, instant label filtering, and better workspace visibility.

• 🎁 UX & Shortcuts: Full-length subtasks, improved dialogs, and new keyboard shortcuts for faster planning.

🧠 AI Features (Beta)

Hoylu’s new AI capabilities are available as a bring-your-own-AI (BYOAI) beta — meaning you connect your own OpenAI key, and all data stays in your environment.

Once connected under Menu → Set AI API Key, you can:

• Extract notes from images – Capture sticky notes from jobsite photos into digital form.

• Convert notes to tasks – Automatically structure your notes into tasks with teams, durations, and start dates.

• Create subtasks – Let AI suggest logical task breakdowns.

• Suggest teams – Identify missing or relevant teams based on project context.

• Generate alt-text for images – Improve accessibility and make your images searchable.

🔗 Connections in the Weekly Work Plan

You can now view and manage task dependencies directly within the Weekly Work Plan.

• Tasks show icons for predecessors and successors.

• Click the icon to see all connections.

• Warnings appear automatically for dependency conflicts and can be resolved right from the side panel.

🔍 Faster Dashboard Experience

We’ve improved dashboard performance to make workspace navigation seamless:

• Search results now appear instantly, even in large projects.

• Label filters load without delay.

• Shared or duplicated workspaces now appear at the top of your list.

🎁 UX Improvements & New Shortcuts

We’ve made several small but impactful enhancements across Hoylu:

• Full-length subtask: Create a single subtask that spans the full activity duration — perfect for high-level tracking.

• Editable default values: You can now clear and retype numeric inputs freely.

• Custom color modal fix: The color picker dialog now displays fully, so all buttons are accessible.

• Subtask → Alt + ↓

• Predecessor → Alt + ←

• Successor → Alt + →

Mac:

• Subtask → Option + ↓
