Even after a Task is marked as Complete or Incomplete, there are additional fields you can manipulate to show more complex situations, including early and late finishes, planned and actual crew sizes, and outcome notes.
Early Finish
If you finished a multi-day Task earlier than anticipated, you can show this on the Plan, but you must take a few extra steps. This will still count against you in the PPC.
Figure 1. Adjusting dates to show Early Finish on a Task.
- Status a Task as Complete
- Double-click the Task to open the Editor
- Adjust the Actual Start, Days, and Actual Due fields to show the earlier finish
- Select a Variance Reason
- Add your Outcome Notes (optional)
- Click the Save & Close button
Hoylu will ask you to correct any fields if the duration of the Task does not match the Actual Start or Actual Due fields by highlighting them in red and graying out the Save & Close button.
Late Finish
If you finished a Task late but do not wish to visualize it with two different Tasks, you are able to adjust the Actual Start and Actual End dates of a Task, and Hoylu will show that it has been Completed Late. This will still count against you in the PPC.
Figure 2. Adjusting dates to show a Late Finish on a Task
- Status a Task as Complete
- Double-click the Task to open the Editor
- Adjust the Actual Start, Days, and Actual Due fields to show the late finish
- Select a Variance Reason
- Add your Outcome Notes (optional)
- Click the Save & Close button
Planned vs. Actual Crew Size
In the same way that you can change the planned and actual dates of a Task when it has moved into an advanced status, you can also show planned and actual crew size calculations on Tasks.
Figure 3. Planned and actual crew sizes in the Task Editor.
- Double-click on a Committed, Complete, or Incomplete Task to open the Task Editor
- Type in a new crew size number in the Actual crew size field
- Add any Outcome Notes (optional)
- Click the Save & Close button
The actual crew size will appear in parenthesis next to the original planned crew size.
