You are able to turn on notifications for different types of objects in Hoylu by hovering over and clicking on the bell icon on any of the following objects within a Workspace:

• Notes
• Shapes
• Tasks
• Milestones
• Constraints

Turn On/Off In-App Notifications

1. Hover over the object until you see a bell icon appear on the bottom right corner
   
   
2. Hover over the bell icon until it turns green
   
   
3. Click on the bell so it turns blue and has the lines on the sides indicating the bell is "ringing"(illustrated in Figure 1)

You will now be notified of actions performed on this object by other participants in the Workspace. The notification will appear on the top right corner of the Workspace as a bell with a red dot, indicating a new notification.

You are able to see the change made to the object, when it was changed, jump to its location in the Workspace, turn off notifications for the object, and see which user made the modification. The alert will also persist until you click the individual notification to dismiss it.

The notification will also appear in the upper right corner of the Dashboard, and it will provide you with a link to bring you directly to the object in its Workspace.

To turn off the notification, you can do so from the notification windows mentioned above by clicking on the bell icon with a slash through it or you can return to the object and follow these steps:

1. Hover over the object until you see the blue ringing bell icon appear on the bottom right corner (illustrated in Figure 1)
   
   
2. Hover over the bell icon until it turns red
   
   
3. Click on the bell icon to turn off notifications

In-App Notifications

You will be able to see alerts for objects you have turned on Notifications for via the Bell icons in a Workspace or in the Dashboard.

The Notification icon on the top right corner of Workspaces and in the Dashboard will have a red dot to alert you of new Notifications. Click on the bell icon to see all your Notifications and take advantage of the following options within the window:

• Click on a notification to mark it as "Read" 
• Turn off the "Hide read" switch to show both unread and read notifications
• Click on the bell icon on the top left to clear all unread notifications

You will be able to see several things on the Notification:

• When the object was changed
• In what Project Folder, in which Workspace, and what type of object was changed
• What was changed about the object
• The option to jump to the object's location
• The option to unsubscribe from the object
• Who made the adjustment or change to the object

Turn On/Off Email Notifications

You can also receive daily summaries of objects you follow in a Workspace in addition to the in-app notifications. As a default, you will receive once-a-day summaries by email, which will also provide deep links back to the specific objects in the Workspace.

1. Hover over the object until you see a bell icon appear on the bottom right corner
   
   
2. Hover over the bell icon until it turns green
   
   
3. Hold down the Ctrl (or Command on a Mac) key and click on the bell
   
   
4. Click on the new blue envelope icon to turn off notifications for this object

Email Notification Summary

If you have opted into receiving email notifications about specific objects, you will receive an email summary at the beginning of the following day from "Hoylu Notifier" (notification@hoylu.com).

You are able to change how frequently you receive these email notification summaries in your Management Portal, which is laid out in this article.
