Video 1. Interactive Labels.
Labels have been developed to categorize objects visually but then to also easily sort Notes, Shapes, or Tasks into Columns and Sections in Boards and into Swimlanes in Plans.
Send to a Structure
To take advantage of this "smart" Label functionality, make sure all Titles have a corresponding or relative Label, as shown in Figure 2. It does not need to match exactly, but this is how Hoylu will be able to recognize any matching Labels added to Notes or Shapes. When using Hoylu presets and templates, you this field will already be populated.
To use this functionality, combine this step of adding Labels to both the container in which you want to send objects and to the object itself:
-
Click on any the three dot-menu of any structure (Plan or Board) to open the Settings and ensure it has a Label
-
Access the Label section in the Control Center to create a new Label or create a new Label directly in a Note, Shape, or Task that matches the container in which you would like to send the object
-
Click on the Label icon on the bottom right corner of the object
-
Type in a new Label title and click on the color box to change the Label color
-
Press the Enter/Return button on your keyboard to confirm and add the Label to the object
-
Click on the Label that now has an arrow beside it on the object
-
Confirm if you want to do this for multiple objects that may have the same Label by clicking on the checkbox on the bottom left corner of the popup
- Click the Place button on the popup
-
Click on the Label icon on the bottom right corner of the object
😎 Pro Tip: Press the F button on your keyboard to jump to the place in which you have sent the object to review its placement.
Reminder: If you have multiple structures (Boards and a Plan), you will receive a popup asking to confirm which structure an object belongs to, especially if you have duplicate Boards with similarly-named Columns and Sections. Make sure you title your Boards mindfully.
Move Using a Label
You can also use the Labels that automatically appear on objects when dropping them into Labeled containers to send them to other locations within the same structure (or even to other structures). Use this option when you would like to reduce the amount of clicking and dragging you have to do in a large structure.
Click on the vertical three-dot icon in the Board Title bar to open the Board Settings
In the Label Interactivity section, enable the Labels that you would like to use — if you would like to prioritize moving objects between Sections, between Columns, and even other Boards and Plans (see Figure 3)
Focus on an object you would like to move and click on the corresponding Label to open the other options to which you would like to move it
