Hoylu has many ways for you to link items within Workspaces -- even objects within the same Workspace. This article provides an overview on how to do this so you can be both efficient and effective. 

Notes & Shapes

Adding a link to a Note or Shape adds a link icon to the top right corner of the element, allowing you to still move the element around without accidentally opening the link. 

1. Click on the Note or Shape to which you would like to add a link
    
2. Click on the three-dot icon in the menu bar
    
3. Click on Link Editor
    
4. Paste your link into the open field
    
5. Click the Save button

When you click on the link icon, Hoylu will show you the link so you know what will open in a new Tab when you click on the link icon to the right. 

Images

Adding a link to an image adds a circular link icon toward the top left corner of the image, allowing you to still move the element without accidentally opening the link. 

1. Click on the image to which you would like to add a link
    
2. Click on the three-dot icon in the menu bar
    
3. Click on Link Editor
    
4. Paste your link into the open field
    
5. Click the Save button

When you click on the link icon, it will open the page in a new tab on your browser.

Hyperlinks

Add a hyperlink directly to text on a Note or Shape to help guide collaborators. 

1. Double-click onto a Note or Shape as if to edit the text
    
2. Highlight the text to which you want to add the link
    
3. Click on the link button on the right side of the selection menu bar
    
4. Paste the link into the open field
    
5. Click the Save button
    
6. Confirm the changes made to the Note or Shape by either pressing Enter on your keyboard or clicking outside of the element

Clicking on the hyperlink will open the link in a new tab in your browser.

Deep Links

Hoylu has Deep Links on almost every element in a Workspace so you can link directly to different elements in the same Workspace. This is especially helpful if you wish to set up a Table of Contents. Check out this article to see more about Deep Links.

1. Click on any Hoylu element whose Deep Link you wish to use
    
2. Click on the three-dot icon in the menu bar
    
3. Click on Copy Link to element to save it to your clipboard
    
4. Follow the steps to add a Hyperlink and paste the Deep Link 
    
5. Click the Save button

Now, anytime someone clicks on the hyperlink, it will jump them to the location of the element and select it in the middle of their screen.
