A Milestone is a Project-level record that marks a significant point in time rather than a span of work. It shares most of the same fields as a Task (Team, Status, Labels, connections), but has no duration; it exists to flag key dates like contractual commitments or major handoffs rather than track ongoing progress.
Visually, a Milestone uses the same three-part card structure as a Task, but with an inverted color scheme (dark background with light text) making it easy to distinguish at a glance even in a dense Plan. It also has its own distinctive icon, a diamond, and since it has no duration, it's displayed on a single date rather than stretching across a range like a Task Card does.
- Drag and drop from the Milestone icon on the Toolbar (or click on the Milestone icon and double click in the general area of where you would like it to be)
- Click into the fields in the rest of the Editor or press Tab on your keyboard to jump to the next field and fill it out with the necessary information
- Click the “Save & Close” button
- Adjust the Milestone card to make sure it is situated in your desired spot
