Duplicate and Clone Tasks, Milestones, and Constraints

Duplicating a Task creates a full independent Task with its own new record in the Project database, so it doesn't respond to status changes or updates on the original. 

Cloning instead creates a card-only clone — a second card pointing to the same underlying Task, which triggers the multi-instance badge and means any change to one instance updates the other everywhere it appears.

Duplicate

1. Click on the card once to select it
    
2. Click on the three-dot icon on the menu bar that appears near the selection
    
3. Click on “Duplicate”
    
4. The duplicate card will appear below the original

Clone

1. Click on the card once to select it
    
2. Click on the three-dot icon on the menu bar that appears near the selection
    
3. Click on “Insert task card clone”
    
4. The cloned card will appear near the original and will have a violet clone icon with the total number of clones in the Workspace

Clicking on the clone icon will show you a list of the clones and allow you to jump to the location of each clone.
