We're thrilled to announce our July '24 product release, introducing powerful updates and new features to enhance your Hoylu experience:
- Shift Elements: Easily move or copy elements across layouts and plans, with automatic placement based on labels and dates.
- Enhanced Connections: New dependency types (Finish to Start, Start to Start, Finish to Finish, Start to Finish) with lag and lead options for precise scheduling.
Hoylu Release Guides
Upon each release, release guides will be provided and stored in the Hoylu Knowledgebase. Specific product changes — our adaptive workspaces, integrations with JIRA, Digital.ai Agility, and so on — can be found in the Hoylu Knowledgebase. You can search our revised Knowledgebase any time — it’s available 24/7 to provide training and guidance on utilizing the innovative features of Hoylu.
July 2024 Release Overview
Shift Elements Feature
We're excited to introduce the new Shift Elements feature, designed to enhance your workflow efficiency with two primary use cases:
-
Moving Elements Across Layouts:
- Quickly move multiple elements from one page in the workspace to an existing layout elsewhere in the workspace.
- This eliminates the need to apply a label first, streamlining the process.
- Elements can be moved into a board or a plan, automatically placed in the correct swim lane or date based on existing labels and dates.
-
Shifting Elements Within a Plan:
- Select elements and shift them to a different swim lane or adjust their time by a set amount (e.g., move tasks by a week or a few days).
- Option to shift copies of elements, useful for replicating sequences of tasks with a time delay across different swim lanes.
- Enables efficient setup and adjustment of tasks within the plan.
Example Use Cases:
- Moving daily meeting notes or tasks to a relevant plan or board without manual selection.
- Adjusting tasks based on labels and dates for automatic placement.
- Shifting tasks within a plan to manage timelines and dependencies effectively.
Enhanced Connection Relationship Types
We're introducing various relationship types for connections to better represent task dependencies:
-
New Dependency Types:
- Finish to Start: (Default) Task A finishes before Task B starts.
- Start to Start: Task A starts, allowing Task B to start simultaneously.
- Finish to Finish: Task A must finish before Task B can finish.
- Start to Finish: Task A starts before Task B can finish.
-
Lag and Lead Options:
- Set lag (positive) and lead (negative) times to define the overlap or gap between tasks.
- Enhances flexibility and precision in scheduling tasks.
-
Updated Warning System:
- Improved warning display for dependency conflicts.
- Visual differentiation of connection types and warnings for easier identification.
- Direct resolution of conflicts through the connection menu.
-
Assistive Rescheduling:
- Previously known as "Move Conflicting Elements," now renamed and enhanced.
- Uses control+A shortcut for quick conflict resolution.
- Prioritizes downstream movement of tasks to maintain logical sequence.
- Allows multiple adjustments to find the most efficient layout.
Example Use Cases:
- Setting dependencies to ensure tasks are scheduled with precise start and finish overlaps.
- Utilizing assistive rescheduling for automatic conflict resolution and efficient task placement.
- Managing complex task sequences with varying dependencies and lag/lead times.
These updates are designed to streamline your workflow, improve task management, and enhance the overall planning experience. As always, we welcome your feedback to continue improving our features. Enjoy the new capabilities, and let us know your thoughts!
Thank you!
